How many hours & $’s is the following likely to be?, labour costs only bearing in mind that I have purchased the equipment from MMATS Pro Audio in the USA and so they haven’t made any margin on selling me their own stock.
Any before anyone asks’s I didn’t but equipment from Woofersetc, I purchased direct from their head office in Florida, Dave Thompson.
1. Access standard head unit and attach LOC to reduce current for RCA input to amp (I would imagine this could be a 2-4hrs work) as the lower part of the dash and associated console would have to be removed, car is a Renault RS250 Megane.
2. Install 4 channel amp (probably in the trunk)- run active to front woofers and tweeters
3. Run power cable from battery to distribution block (inside cabin?) and install fuse
4. Run power cable to 4 channel amp
5. Run second power cable to boot mounted sub amp and RCA cable from LOC to sub amp
6. Optional – replace current door woofers and dash tweeters (again MMATS supplied)
I would believe this would be the better part of a full days labour, no knowing what install rates are I’m a bit lost as to what to expect? - $600, $700, $800, $900? More?
I realise that every installation is unique and so you never know what problems you can encounter during an install, but a ball park figure would be appreciated by those in the know.
Thanks in anticipation of any feedback
