I bought something without researching again and it backfired(potentially), I grabbed an old MRV-F345 hoping to bridge channels 1 and 2 to drive one side of my front stage and bridge 3 and four to drive the other.
I didn't bother checking the manual as I saw it was 50Wx4 and saw a bridged spec and assumed I could run two channel but I am wrong.
What is different internally that won't allow the other channels to be bridged, should I try it and see if it smokes?
I was wondering if it was just done to stop users running 2 chan mode and running excessive current through the power supply?
Alpine MRV-F345, why can you only bridge channels one and two?

Its an asymmetrical amplifier, just like its bigger brother, the MRV-F545. Absolutely brilliant amps, i've had an MRV-F345 in my time, then upgraded to two MRV-F545's and finally added an MRD-M1005 back in the old days of my Holden Nova (see my sig and link for details!). Then sold them off and upgraded, and they're still going strong as far as i'm aware.
Anyways, all your questions about that era of Alpine V12 amps and bridging are answered here: http://www.mobileele...__fromsearch__1 and a discussed again through here: http://www.mobileele..._1#entry1159272

Cheers Mr Mad, I had a quick search but only got for sale threads, so looks like I can still bridge it so I'll try it, if it dies I'll put a normal amp in there.

You can definitely bridge it - no question there. It just isn't designed to produce the same power on each bridged channel.

And that is a perfect answer, as long as I get ~100W a side I'm happy and it will do that easily, seems like a good amp for $50.
